Trellian WebSafe provides a welcome solution for the protection of your valuable and hard work!
We all know how it feels to invest countless hours of your time, effort and money into creating professional webpages for your web site, just to have some unscrupulous visitor save it to disk instantly with a few clicks and then modify it for their own purposes.
Trellian WebSafe is a HTML encryptor, which will turn the HTML of your website into encrypted code (garble), so that it will be safe from light fingered intruders, uninvited information collectors and spiders.
Trellian WebSafe also performs as a function disabler, unwanted tag stripper and HTML optimizer. With Trellian WebSafe HTML encryptor, you can instantly disable the right click function on your entire website, encrypt HTML pages, strip unwanted tags caused by WYSIWYG editors and more!
Trellian WebSafe will not alter the the physical look of your pages in any way.
Registering your program
To register and upgrade your software, you will need to obtain registration details. To purchase a registration key from the Trellian web site, Select Register Software from the Help menu of WebSafe, and click on the "Click here to visit our online website" link. Alternatively you may purchase the software from an authorized Trellian software reseller.
Once you have all of your details ready, follow these steps to register WebSafe.
Step 1. - Select Register Software from the Help menu.
Step 2. - Enter your registration details. Registration details are case sensitive. Your username will be the email address you registered with. If you have lost your registration details, click the relevant link on the registration window, and follow the instructions. Click the OK button to continue. If your registration details are accepted, a thank you message is displayed
Step 3. - WebSafe will then begin searching for any missing components that you may be entitled to download. It will then to ask you whether you would like to download these components. Click Yes to upgrade now, or you can upgrade the components at a later date. If you do not upgrade, the full program features may not be available

To keep WebSafe current, upgrades should be installed from time to time. These upgrades are free to all registered users.
To download the latest upgrade, select the Upgrade option from the File menu. LiveUpgrade will contact the upgrade server to check if there are any upgrades available.
All available components will be displayed in the selection list. All items that can be upgraded will be marked with a red clock icon. To upgrade these items, tick the checkbox next to the program and/or component name and click the Upgrade button.
Items marked by a grey dot have not been installed.
Items marked with a green tick are current and no update is required.

WebSafe has three main functions - Encryption, User Access and Optimization. This chapter explains how to use WebSafe.
To encrypt a HTML file locate the file or folder in the file browser. Select the file/folder so it is highlighted. If a folder is selected, all HTML files within the folder will be encrypted.
Click the Encrypt button to display the Encryption options.
Select an encryption strength from the drop down menu. If only encryption is required, ensure that the User Access and Optimization tabs do not have any checkboxes checked. Otherwise select any other settings requried and click the OK button to encrypt the files.
To view the encrypted HTML code click the Edit button. To view the HTML file in a web browser click the View button.
WebSafe can optimize HTML code by removing unnecessary HTML tags.
To optimize a HTML file locate the file or folder in the file browser. Select the file/folder so it is highlighted. If a folder is selected, all HTML files within the folder will be optimized.
Click the Encrypt button then click the Optimization tab to display the User Access options.
Tick the checkboxes to select the access options to apply. If only optimization is required ensure that the User Access and Encryption tabs do not have any checkboxes checked or options selected. Otherwise select any other settings requried and click OK.
To add user access restrictions to a HTML file locate the file or folder in the file browser. Select the file/folder so it is highlighted. If a folder is selected, all HTML files within the folder will be changed.
Click the Encrypt button then click the User Access tab to display the User Access options.
Tick the checkboxes to select the access options to apply. If only user access restrictions are required ensure that the Encryption and Optimization tabs do not have any checkboxes or options selected. Otherwise select any other settings requried and click OK.
Click the View button to test the webpage in a browser.
WebSafe creates a backup of files before encryption. Files that can be restored have a blue arrow icon next to them.
To restore a file or folder after being encrypted select the file/folder and click the Restore button. The following message will be displayed:
Note that any changes made after encryption will be lost. Click Yes to restore the files.

WebSafe's file browser will only display files with the extensions listed in this field.
Ask before processing folders
When this checkbox is ticked WebSafe will display a warning when a folder is selected. To disable the warning message untick the checkbox.
Show Hidden Files and Folders
When this checkbox is ticked WebSafe will display hidden files and folders in the file browser. To hide hidden files untick the checkbox.
When this checkbox is ticked WebSafe will display captions underneath the toolbar buttons. To disable the captions untick the checkbox.
When this checkbox is ticked WebSafe will display a large version of the toolbar icons. To disable large icons untick the checkbox.
The WebSafe interface is easy to navigate and is designed to be user friendly.
