Trellian Toolbar is a feature packed toolbar that gives you the power to enhance your search capabilities. Trellian Toolbar is the most feature packed easy to use toolbar available online. The Toolbar allows you to search from the toolbar, so you don't have to constantly navigate to search engine web pages. While offering an endless array of functionality, tools and services, Trellian Toolbars unique intuitive tab menu and search functions are a pleasure to use. Unlike some other toolbars, the Trellian Toolbar is just as easy to uninstall as it is to install. It can be conveniently disabled/enabled at any time. It incorporates search functions for many of the top search engines

Upgrading


Upgrading



To keep Toolbar current, upgrades should be installed from time to time. These upgrades are free to all users.
To download the latest upgrade, select the Upgrade option from the Internet Studio menu.



LiveUpgrade will contact the upgrade server to check if there are any upgrades available.



All available components will be displayed in the selection list.

All items that can be upgraded will be marked with a red clock icon. To upgrade these items, tick the checkbox next to the program and/or component name and click the Upgrade button.

Items marked by a grey diamond have not been installed.

Items marked with a green tick are current and no update is required.

Once you have installed the Toolbar, you will need to close all open browser windows, and reopen them to display the Toolbar. If the Toolbar still doesn't display, you may need to change your browser settings. In Internet Explorer select Tools, Options, then click the Advanced tab. Make sure "Enable 3rd Party Browser Extensions" is selected.

Right-click anywhere on the toolbar area of your browser and select Trellian Toolbar from the popup menu.

Ensure that the toolbars are not locked, by right clicking anywhere on the toolbar area of your browser and check that "Lock the toolbars" is not selected. To resize the toolbar click on the separator bar on the left of the Internet Studio button, and drag the toolbar to the desired location.



Arrows button:
If the Arrows button is displayed on the toolbar, there are additional items that can be viewed, but do not fit on the screen. To access the additional items, click the arrows button.

Click the button to toggle between minimize/maximize.

Ensure that the Search tab is selected



Search box
Type your search terms into the search box and click the Go button or press enter. To see a history of past search terms, click the down arrow next to the search box.

Search engines can be selected in multiple ways. The currently selected search engine is displayed above the search box. Note: The search engines with purple flower pictures are normal engines, the blue flowers are pay per click search engines

Multi engine search
Once you have entered a search term into the search box, you can obtain results for each engine with one click. When you select a different search engine the Toolbar will automatically use the same search terms on the search engine you have selected.


Searching within a site  
To search for specific words within a web site, navigate to the web site you wish to search. Type the search terms into the search box and click the Search this site button. The results of your search will be displayed.


Searching the encyclopedia  
Enter the term you wish to search for into the search box. Click the Encyclopedia button and the results for your search will be displayed.

Shareware
To find shareware programs, select the Shareware menu option from the QuickSearch menu.

Encyclopedia
To search the encyclopedia, type the word you wish to search for in the search box., then select the Encyclopedia menu option from the QuickSearch menu.

Shopping
To shop for an item, enter the item you wish to search for into the search box, then select the Shopping menu option from the QuickSearch menu.

Images
To search for images, enter your search terms into the search box. Then select the Images menu option from the QuickSearch menu.

Files
To search for files, enter your search terms into the search box. Then select the Files menu option from the QuickSearch menu.

Music
To search for music, enter your search terms into the search box. Then select the Music menu option from the QuickSearch menu

Web site preview 
Web site preview will give you a brief overview of each page on the web site. To preview a web site, click the Web site preview button. Type in the web site address you wish to preview, and click the BrowseTo Button. The web page's title, modification info, and a brief summary are shown.

CodeThe HTML code can be viewed by clicking the code link
LinksThe links link will display all the links found on the page.
WhoIs link will display WhoIs information for the web page
Images on a page can be displayed by clicking the Images link
Email displays the email addresses found on the page


Note: This feature displays web pages by following all the links on the index page only.


Add a site  
To add a web site to a search engine, navigate to the search engine you wish to add your site to. Click the Add URL button and the submission screen will be displayed. The instructions on the web page will guide you through the process of submitting a site.

Backwards and Forwards


Apart from your browser's back and forward buttons, you can also click the back or forward buttons on the toolbar, above the search box. Page navigation is also available in the Search menu item of the Internet Studio menu.


Displaying the next page of results
Click the backward or forward arrows located next to the page number buttons.


Selecting different result pages
  
To skip to a specific results page, click on the blue page number buttons corresponding to the page you require. The toolbar will display the selected search results page. You can also click the Information Studio button and select a page number from the Search menu item.


History  
To see a list of the web sites you have visited, click the down arrow above the search box to display a drop down menu.


Home  
To go to your home page, click the home button


Refreshing  
To refresh the web page you are viewing, click the refresh button


Stop  
To stop the current page from loading, click the stop button

Add Bid  
Navigate to the search engine you wish to add a bid for, then click the add bid button. The web page will guide you through the bidding process.


Meta Search   
Meta Search allows you to search multiple search engines simultaneously. Enter your search terms in the search box and click the Meta Search button. The results will be displayed.

SEO searching provides tools to help with links and search engines. To access these tools, select the SEO tab in the Toolbar.

Links  
The Link tool searches for web pages that have links to a specific web page. This tool can be used to show you which web pages are linking to your web site.

To search for web pages that link to a particular web site, go to the web site or web page that you wish to search for.
For example, to find all web pages that link to www.trellian.com, go to the www.trellian.com web site, and then click the links button.


Page text  
This tool shows you how search engines view your page. To use this tool, navigate to the web site or web page you wish to see. Click the Page text button. An explanation of the page contents is displayed at the top of the web page after clicking the Page text button.


Server header check  
This tool shows server information for the web page you are viewing. To use this tool, navigate to the web site or web page you wish to see server header information for. Click the Server header check button.

Server header information may be unavailable for some web pages.

Alexa traffic statsProvides ranking and traffic statistics. There are two options in the drop down menu, Refresh and Report. Refresh gets the latest statistics for all items in the history. Show Go Button:
Toggles the Go button off and on

Show Standard buttons:
Toggles the stop, refresh, home, back and forward buttons off and on.

Minimized Toolbar:
Toggles whether the Toolbar is maximized or minimized

Block Popups:
Popup ads are annoying windows that popup on your screen when you visit some web sites. To block these popup ads, click the Block Popups checkbox. To enable popup windows, ensure the Block Popups checkbox is not ticked.
